Something that stuck with me from that talk was when she shared about the fact that her daughter was very creative when it came to wrapping gifts. So much so, that Diana happily passed that job to her daughter when they had a gift-wrapping need. At the time my first two children were 6 and 8 year old, and I thought how wonderful it would be to see a child surpass myself in ability, and be able to share the load of general every day tasks. It is. It's absolutely wonderful - like a precious gift for the minutes, hours, days, months and years we pour into our children. As they grow and mature it becomes clear where their passions and talents lie. I encourage you to call upon your children in their areas of interest, consider their opinions and help them make decisions, employ them to make gifts for others, decorate your house, guide or entertain their siblings perhaps? Build a tight team, and as captain of the team it's your job to stay up-to-date with the skills, maturity and interests of your team members. EARLY SUMMER PROMPTS Art & Craft ideas You might like to choose a favourite animal to draw, collage, paint, model, knit or carve. A sitting animal may be one of the first models a child makes with dough, plasticine, clay or modeling beeswax. Use a toy, a picture, or an animal in real life as your inspiration/model. This can be more successful than trying to do it from memory! Trust me!
